Shawn Guy: Girls Basketball Head Coach

Coach Shawn Guy brings a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience to our Falcons Family. Coach Guy was an assistant coach for Morro Bay High School for two years before taking over the Los Osos Middle School Girls Program. From 2018-2020, Coach Guy coached 5 teams at Los Osos Middle School; this included the school's introduction of both 6th grade Boys and 6th grade Girls teams. Over the course of 5 teams and over 70 games, Coach Guy only suffered 3 losses. Prior to this, Coach Guy coached various levels of club basketball, from 2nd grade to 8th grade.

Born in Kahuku, Hawaii, and relocated to California as a child, Guy ended up on the Central Coast where he played at Coast Union High School. Realizing that

basketball was a passion but not a reality for college ball, Coach Guy pursued a career in Law and has been a practicing attorney since 2001.

Guy is blessed with 4 daughters, one granddaughter and a grandson. In 2016 his twin daughters decided to start playing basketball which brought Guy back into coaching. As Guy coached his daughters in the game, he realized there were many more kids that could not afford club and travel ball. Coach Guy has always had a passion to help his community and with like-minded parents, he created the non-profit "Phantom Nation," which provides free training for all kids, at all levels in our community.

Coach Guy often says: "Keep it simple". His view is not to provide only for his kids, but also to provide all kids an opportunity to belong to a winning program -- maybe not always winning on the scoreboard of a game, but winning on the scoreboard of life.
