Vince Conde: Athletic Director

In his 4th year with the Falcons as Athletic Director, Vince Conde has helped Old Mission School Athletics return to competitive form in each sport. He also leads the OMS Boys Basketball program as Head Coach and teaches 4th-8th grade PE and middle school Religion. Coach Conde prides himself on hiring the best coaches available, utilizing top notch facilities, and outfitting all athletes with elite equipment and gear. In 2019, Conde began our Athletic PE program, which allows students to head to their sport practice during 8th period.

Born in Fremont, CA, Coach Conde attended Holy Spirit School from 1984-1992. He helped lead his Holy Spirit basketball teams to 6 straight Mission Valley Athletic League Titles, 5 straight Oakland Diocese Championship Games, including 2 Oakland Diocese Championships in 1989 and 1991. Conde attended Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, CA. In 1995, he led the Hayward Area Athletic League in 3point field goals. In 1996 he helped deliver the school's first ever HAAL Championship and his team reached the North Coast Section Division 3 Final Four. He was selected to the Adidas Academics and Athletics Bay Area All Star Team in 1996. From 1997-1999, Vince played for Cuesta College and helped the Cougars to five tournament titles as well as back-to-back Western State Conference North Championships. He earned WSC All-Conference honors and academic All-Conference in 1998.

Conde's coaching career began in 2000 as an assistant at Templeton High School. That season the Eagles were undefeated in the Coast Sierra League including a 3-0 record vs. Mission College Prep. In 2001, Conde became the varsity head coach at Templeton leading the Eagles to a CIF berth. Conde then led the San Luis Obispo junior varsity to back-to-back league titles as well as an undefeated 17-0 season in 2003. The Tigers didn’t lose any game under Coach Conde the last 18 months he coached them. From 2004-2006, Conde was the assistant at Cuesta College and in 2007 he was the varsity Head Coach at Paso Robles High School. Conde then began a six-season stint as Associate Head Coach at Allan Hancock College. The Bulldogs earned their first outright Western State Conference title in 37 years in 2011-2012 and reached the state playoffs 3 straight years. Coach Conde has also been heavily involved in Coaching AAU and Club Basketball in California. He currently is in his 5th year coaching for 3ball Academy in San Luis Obispo, and coached for National AAU powerhouse MVP Flight Elite in Walnut Creek for 2 years.

After a short break from coaching, Conde returned to the sidelines for Old Mission School for the 2019-2020 season as 7th and 8th grade Boys’ Basketball Head Coach. The Falcons enjoyed a very special season with 7th grade going 14-0, and 8th grade achieving a 22-3 record with only 3 8th grade players! While coaching, Vince has also been a basketball official for 27 years including 18 seasons as a CIF high school basketball official, and 6 years as a college basketball official. Vince has officiated 3 CIF Championship Games, and 3 MCP Christmas Classic Championship Games. In 2021, Vince became the Assigner for the Los Padres Basketball Officials Association.

Coach Conde earned his B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Sports Coaching from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He achieved a Master’s Degree from the University of Central Missouri in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Management. He also taught classes for Allan Hancock College for 3 years including 2 years teaching at the Lompoc Federal Penitentiary. Some classes taught include Sports Officiating, Health, Strength and Flexibility, Basketball, Soccer, Yoga and Study Skills. Coach Conde was also a nationally Certified Personal Fitness Trainer for 12 years and has actively trained young athletes on the central coast for over 20 years.

Conde currently resides in San Luis Obispo with his 11-year-old daughter, Taylor. His hobbies include playing fantasy sports, weight lifting, and jet skiing.
