Old Mission School's Annual Coat Drive
The OMS community donated over 300 coats in 2012 - let's surpass that this year!
We are collecting clean, lightly-used coats for all ages of men, women and children. We also need gloves and knit caps.
Our donations go directly into the San Luis Obispo community. Last year, we donated coats to the Maxine Lewis Memorial Homeless Shelter, Prado Day Center, the Children's Resource Network, the Women's Shelter, and CASA.
Coats will be tallied in each grade's home room and the class that collects the most coats will receive treats the week before Christmas.
Thank you for supporting our coat drive!

Mission Family Ads are Now Online
Please check out the Mission Family Ads on the right sidebar under "Newsletters & Flyers."
Support your school by placing a Mission Family Ad!
Do you have something to sell? Perhaps a guitar? Or a Kayak? Are you a Mission Family with a business who would like to advertise their services or offer a discount?
Mission Family Ads are classified ads for OMS Parent Club fund raising. They can be submitted by OMS parents, staff, students, or associates of OMS. They will be linked directly off the website on the right sidebar, under "Newsletters & Flyers."
All ads are a full page and cost $15 per week, or $45 per month. Payment is made to the OMS Parent Club. Ads can be submitted electronically or on paper, and must be submitted by 2 PM Tuesday by 2 PM for inclusion in the Friday newsletter.
If you have any questions, or you would like to put an ad in the newsletter, you may contact our ad coordinator, Kathy Sahwanitz at 610-1258, or email email@example.com.
Thank you for your support!
Attention 8th Grade Parents!
We need pictures of your eighth grader from birth to present for the yearbook.
Every year we have photo pages created especially for the graduating class. One section is for baby pictures and the other is for pictures of two or more classmates from years past. (birthdays, sport teams, dance, Halloween, etc.)
The deadline for turning in pictures is December 17, 2013.
If you prefer to send scanned or digital photos, please make sure they have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Email to: firstname.lastname@example.org or share to the Drop Box.
Actual photographs will be scanned and returned (please make sure student's name is on the back.)
Place photographs in envelope in the 8th-grade homerooms.
Please do not send pictures printed from a home printer. The yearbook team has final discretion as to which photos are published.
OMS Legacy Campaign
We are pleased to share with you a new vision for Old Mission School, the development of a downtown satellite campus to serve our growing middle school population.
Recently, Old Mission Church offered to make available its share of a property on Palm Street, directly across from the Mission parking lot, for the purpose of creating a Middle School satellite campus only two blocks from the present school site.
The property is owned jointly by the Church and the Catholic schools of San Luis Obispo and presently houses the OMS business office. The new campus would be home to four new classrooms, a restroom facility, and an office and a teacher prep area.
For more information, please visit the OMS Legacy Campaign page.
Old Mission School Teachers are now Online and on Twitter!
OMS teachers now have individual wiki pages containing live twitter feeds with classroom updates.
Every teacher's wiki page will provide regular updates regarding homework assignments, class news, and important announcements.
If you have a Twitter account, make sure to "follow" your children's teachers. If you don't have a Twitter account, don't worry. It is not necessary for you to have one in order to view teachers' Twitter feeds - just click on one of the the following links:
If you need to get in touch with a teacher, please continue to either call or send an email (we're new to Twitter and want to make sure we are able to get back to you in a timely manner).
